Artie, Jr. came into my life when I married his father in 1961. During the next 59 years, I saw a teenager grow into a man who became a beloved son, brother, husband and father to a large family. I truly believe he knows how much we love him.

Artie is remembered for his authentic sense of humor, love and interest in baseball – especially his beloved Yankees. His love and devotion for his wife; Lorraine, their daughters; Lauren & Regina, his grandchildren and his extended family. The love and bond with his brothers and sisters, and with his entire family.
For sharing his life, his charisma and his laughter with so many great friends. (“Everybody loves Artie” ) His devotion to Bay Ridge. It’s cliched, but in this case, exactly true; “There will never be another Artie Nelson”
- Rest in Peace Artie.

My Uncle Artie was the best man. He was kind, generous, loving, a fierce protector of those he loved, a loyal friend, and a good listener. He loved his family, his friends, all people and animals. He was the life of the party. He always made you laugh. He was so funny! We were all made better by knowing him and so blessed to have him in our lives. He will be missed so much.
