Charles J. Coreschi, 87, died peacefully at his home in Brooklyn, NY surrounded in love by his family. Charlie was born in the Kips Bay section of New York City to Guiseppe (Joe) and Angiolina (née Testa) Coreschi who immigrated to the U.S. from the country of Malta. He graduated from St. John’s University with a degree in chemistry. After completing college, he served in the United States Army and was stationed in El Paso, TX. He worked for Dow Chemical and later for The American Petroleum Institute retiring in 1997.
A strong family man, he is survived by his children, Donna Polichetti, Christopher Coreschi, Gregory Coreschi, Deidre Coreschi and Victoria Wilson; his sons and daughters-in-law, Sal Polichetti, Tamara Steckler, Alex Franki and James Wilson; former wife and dearest friend, Virginia Joyce; 10 grandchildren Michael Britton, (wife Jenn Britton), Colton Coreschi, (wife Danielle Micceri), Joseph Polichetti, Christina Polichetti, Avery Coreschi, Matthew Wilson, Cassidy Wilson, Christian Franki, Kaeley Wilson, Mia Franki, great-grandaughter Makayla Britton in addition to many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Joseph J. Coreschi.

Charlie or ‘Mr. Cellophane’ as he was so adoringly known, was full of knowledge. He loved walking, enjoyed reading, politics, current events, TV and had a true love of the theater. He was an active member of many community theaters in Brooklyn and in Orange County. He performed in over 60 theater productions but more importantly, he touched and influenced the lives of those he came in contact with as a teacher, mentor and friend. He truly impacted so many lives as he was such a kind and gentle soul. Charlie loved all things Charlie Brown and the Peanuts gang and he absolutely loved Christmas - not just the day but all the days leading up to Christmas and everything about it. He watched every Christmas movie ever made, played Christmas music and CD’s often, and kept his house Christmas decorated all year-round. He will be so deeply missed.
