ELVIRA BOBBIO

Elvira Bobbio, age 79, passed away on Wednesday July 22nd. Elvira was born in Lima, Peru in 1941 the eldest child of Luzmila Gamarra and Bernardo Ugaz.
Elvira was born in Lima, Peru where she was an accountant at the Post Office of Lima, Peru. It is at the Post Office that she met her beloved husband Fernando Bobbio. She later immigrated to the United States in 1970 and lived in Brooklyn, New York, where she a was a devoted homemaker. She and Fernando were married for over 60 years.
She and her surviving husband enjoyed cooking Peruvian food including ceviche and picarones. Elvira was a devoted member of the Catholic Church, and a participant of the Senor de los Milagros where she participated annually. She will be remembered for her kind and generous heart. She was a generous donor of her time and charity, often helping organize events to send to those in need at her native Peru. She had a zest for life, singing and in her younger days –dancing, lots of dancing!
She will be forever missed by her children and their spouses: Fernando Bobbio and his wife Vicki Brown, Bonita Bobbio and her husband Douglas Grega, Elizabeth Bobbio and Miguel Quiles. She had five beloved grandchildren who will always remember her as “Mama Vira”: Brandon Grega, Megan Bobbio, Samantha Bobbio, Julian Quiles and Joshua Quiles. She is survived by her brother John Ugaz.
