Florence (Flo) Dalton passed away peacefully at her home in Brooklyn on January 8, 2021 at the age of 97. Florence was a lifelong resident of Bay Ridge and enjoyed spending summers in Spring Lake with her children, grandchildren, and great- grandchildren for the last 40 years. She retired as an administrative assistant with the New York City Board of Education at the age of 72. Florence loved nothing more than an early evening swim in the Atlantic Ocean, followed by a delicious dinner out or a nice glass of pinot grigio on her back porch with family and friends. She appreciated the blessings in her own life and always made room in her heart for the less fortunate, setting an example for her family that will long endure. Florence was the loving mother of six children: Richard, Brian (Bernadette), Patricia, Jacqueline, Mary (Ben) Giattini, and Chris; eight grandchildren: Christine (Alex) Fredericks, Nicholas (Laura) Giattini, Brianne (Kevin) Philbin, Michael (Amanda) Giattini, Kerry (Conor) Goree, Brian, Michael, and Tara Dalton; and eight great-grandchildren: Austin, Jake, and Alexa Fredericks, Nolan and Gavin Giattini, and Keira, Makenna, and Kevin Philbin. She was predeceased by her husband Richard, her sisters Marian, Frances, and Kay, her brother Jack and her son-in-law Douglas. She will always be remembered as a woman of great faith with a very generous and compassionate nature. She will be missed every day by those who knew and loved her. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation ( JDRF.org ) or to a charity of your choice.
