Obituary for Marisol A. Rivera

No, woman, no cry
'Cause, I remember when we used to sit
In the government yard in Trenchtown
Oba observing the 'ypocrites
Mingle with the good people we meet
Good friends we have, oh, good friends we've lost
Along the way
In this great future, you can't forget your past
So dry your tears, I seh
No, woman, no cry
No, woman, no cry
'Ere, little darlin', don't shed no tears
No, woman, no cry
Said, said, said, I remember when-a we used to sit
In the government yard in Trenchtown
And then Georgie would make the fire lights, I seh
A log wood burnin' through the night
Then we would cook cornmeal porridge, I seh
Of which I'll share with you
My feet is my only carriage
And so I've got to push on through
But while I'm gone
Everything's gonna be all right
So no woman, no cry
No woman, no cry
I say, oh little oh little darling, don't shed no tears
No woman, no cry
No woman, no woman, no woman, no cry
No woman, no cry, one more time I've got to say
Oh little little darling, please don't shed no tears
No woman, no cry
No woman, no woman no cry

Marisol A. Rivera
Marisol Rivera was born to Reinaldo Rivera and Carmen Rivera at Episcopal Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on July 24, 1973.

Our Lady of Angels Catholic Church knew Marisol to be a consistent member. At 17 years old, Marisol graduated from John Jay High School, and soon after met her lifelong partner William Quiles.

On April 29, 1998, Marisol accomplished her dream of becoming a mother and gave birth to her daughter Nicole AnnMarie Quiles, and five years later on July 30, 2003, her son Justin William Quiles.

DSW had the privilege of having Marisol as their manager for 9 years where she quickly improved the workspace environment. Marisol’s infectious energy, kind smile, and great sense of humor made her easily liked amongst all that met her.

At the age of 47, Marisol lost her 12 year battle with cancer at NYU Langone Hospital to join her grandmothers, Carmen Gloria Reyes and Antonia Perez. She will also be jammin’ in heaven with her “close friend” Bob Marley.

Left to cherish memories of Marisol are her brothers, Vito and Alex, her parents, her children, her partner, friends and family. Marisol will be greatly missed. She will forever be known for being a lovable, perseverant and quirky daughter, mother, sister.
