Ralph Bencivenga of the Lower East side died on May 1, 2023. He was born on July 27, 1951 to his parents Ralph and Antoinette Bencivenga. His siblings were late Maryann and Philip, and he is survived by siblings Joseph and Janet.

In 1972 Ralph married his childhood sweetheart Patricia Gitto and they lovingly raised three children Jennifer, Ralph and Michael. Ralph is survived by his children and their spouses: Chris and Kimberly. Ralph's greatest legacy is his seven grandchildren Christopher, Carlo, Matteo, Luca, Grayson and Jaxson. Ralph loved and adored his grandchildren and enjoyed seeing their milestones.

Ralph worked at Merrill Lynch for many years and often took side jobs of painting to help fund his children’s lives and education. Ralph was a voracious reader who had an extreme thirst for knowledge. He served as a Lecturer at Saint Brendan’s and was also a Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do. Ralph had the innate ability to make everyone laugh and was a countless source of strength for many. Ralph enjoyed Broadway shows, Mafia movies, world history, playing Lotto, visiting the library, and cheering for the Mets.

Most recently he helped coach his grandchildren’s baseball games and his presence is greatly missed.
Ralph was larger than life and we trust his stories and memories will comfort many. Donations in his name can be sent to the New York Public Library or Tunnel to Towers foundation.
