Mourning Bonnie Madeline Apone

December 1 2020 was a very sad day. John and Bonnie Apone’s daughter passed away. Baby Bonnie was nearly 14 months and, since birth, suffered cardiovascular problems. Professional health care workers did their best to treat Baby Bonnie. Her mother was always with her 24/7 in hospital and home. It is time for grieving. It is time for tears. It is NOT a time for regrets.

As Baby Bonnie passed away, according to Jewish mysticism, her soul remains. It lives in our minds. It lives in our hearts.

Jewish tradition talks of the soul, which is eternal, and after the body dies enters what our ancient sages called olam haba, the World to Come. The ancient rabbis and medieval mystics described it as a non-earthly existence where one could experience out-of-body sensations, being greeted by loved ones, being bathed in divine light, attaining wisdom, undergoing a final life accounting, and being enveloped with a sense of peace and tranquility.

Jews, during grieving periods, recite the mourner’s Kaddish. An aramaic prayer, the Kaddish supports the soul and your lasting bond. Of the five variations of the Kaddish; the best known is the Mourner's Kaddish. The prayer never mentions death or dying, but instead proclaims the greatness of God. By reciting it, mourners show that even as their faith is being tested by their loss, they are affirming God's greatness.

The text is in English:

May his great name be blessed, forever and ever. Blessed, praised, glorified, exalted, extolled, honored, elevated and lauded be the Name of the holy one, Blessed is he – above and beyond any blessings and hymns, Praises and consolations which are uttered in the world; and say Amen.

Baby Bonnie Madeline Apone may be no longer with us. Reciting the Kaddish helps her soul rise and develop. The funeral is for those on Earth. Blessed Baby Bonnie has passed through the stargate. She is inspiring all who knew and loved her. Saying Kaddish is a way to help her soul travel. Help her move to heaven.

Bonnie Madeline was a cherub that was sent to us for a short time but it didn't minimize the effect she had on everyone who was lucky enough to meet her. She is an Angel watching over us now and she will continue to touch the hearts of all those who loved her.
